Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-7372-1 advisory.

Martin van Kervel Smedshammer discovered that Varnish did not properly sanitize certain HTTP headers. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to perform a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attack.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
