Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Mattermost Server installed on the remote host is prior to 9.11.9, 10.3.4, or 10.4.3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the MMSA-2025-00421 advisory.

 - Mattermost versions 10.4.x <= 10.4.2, 10.3.x <= 10.3.3, 9.11.x <= 9.11.8 fail to restrict command execution in archived channels, which allows authenticated users to run commands in archived channels.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mattermost Server version 9.11.9 / 10.3.4 / 10.4.3 / 10.5.0 or later.
