Fedora 40 : perl-Data-Entropy (2025-52d7857536)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 233989

Language:

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 40 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2025-52d7857536 advisory.

Prior to version 0.008, the Perl module Data::Entropy relied on Perl's builtin rand function to choose an entropy source. Version 0.008 does away with this need.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected perl-Data-Entropy package.
