MongoDB Compass < 1.42.2 Code Injection (macOS)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 234215

Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of MongoDB Compass installed on the remote host is affected by a code injection vulnerability. MongoDB Compass may be susceptible to code injection due to insufficient sandbox protection settings with the usage of ejson shell parser in Compass' connection handling.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MongoDB Compass version 1.42.2 or later.
