CBL Mariner 2.0 Security Update: curl (CVE-2025-0167)

low Nessus Plugin ID 234298

Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of curl installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2025-0167 advisory.

- When asked to use a `.netrc` file for credentials **and** to follow HTTP redirects, curl could leak the password used for the first host to the followed-to host under certain circumstances. This flaw only manifests itself if the netrc file has a `default` entry that omits both login and password. A rare circumstance. (CVE-2025-0167)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
