Synopsis

SolarWinds Serv-U is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of SolarWinds Serv-U installed on the remote host is prior to 15.5.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the solarwinds_serv-u_15_5_1 advisory.

 - SolarWinds Serv-U is vulnerable to a client-side cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The vulnerability can only be performed by an authenticated account, on the local machine, from the local browser session. Therefore the risk is very low. (CVE-2024-45712)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Serv-U version 15.5.1 or later.
