Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of crash / gdb installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-47696 advisory.

 - An issue was discovered Binutils objdump before 2.39.3 allows attackers to cause a denial of service or other unspecified impacts via function compare_symbols. (CVE-2022-47696)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
