Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for cups.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2009:1082 advisory.

- cups: IPP_TAG_UNSUPPORTED handling NULL pointer dereference DoS (CVE-2009-0949)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL cups package based on the guidance in RHSA-2009:1082.
