openSUSE Security Update : unbound (unbound-840)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 40317

Synopsis

The remote openSUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

This update fixes a heap-based buffer overflow in the ldns_rr_new_frm_str_internal() function. This allowed remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a DNS resource record (RR) with a long class field and possibly TTL field. (CVE-2009-1086)

Solution

Update the affected unbound packages.
