Synopsis
The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related patches.Description
It was discovered that OpenLDAP did not correctly handle SSL certificates with zero bytes in the Common Name. A remote attacker could exploit this to perform a man in the middle attack to view sensitive information or alter encrypted communications.Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
Solution
Update the affected ldap-utils, libldap-2.2-7 and / or slapd packages.See Also
