TYPO3 Back-end 'index.php' 'redirect_url' Redirect

medium Nessus Plugin ID 48239

Synopsis

The remote web server hosts an application with an open redirect.

Description

The installed version of TYPO3 fails to validate input passed to the 'redirect_url' parameter of the back-end 'index.php' script before issuing a redirect. An attacker can exploit this issue to conduct phishing attacks by tricking users into visiting malicious websites.

The installed version is also reportedly affected by several other vulnerabilities including cross-site scripting, SQL-injection, arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, header injection, broken authentication, and session management; however, Nessus has not tested for these issues.

Solution

Upgrade to TYPO3 4.1.14 / 4.2.13 / 4.3.4 / 4.4.1 or later.
