Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for sudo.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2012:0309 advisory.

- sudo: does not ask for password on GID changes (CVE-2011-0010)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL sudo package based on the guidance in RHSA-2012:0309.
