Synology DiskStation Manager < 4.3-3776 Update 3 info.cgi Multiple Parameters XSS

medium Nessus Plugin ID 72344

Synopsis

The remote Synology DiskStation Manager is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

According to its version number, the Synology DiskStation Manager installed on the remote host is a version prior to 4.3-3776 Update 3. It is, therefore, potentially affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'host', 'target' and 'add' parameters of the 'info.cgi' script.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to 4.3-3776 Update 3 or later, or contact the vendor.
