Fedora 20 : net-snmp-5.7.2-17.fc20 (2014-3427)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 72972

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing a security update.

Description

A denial of service attack vector was discovered on the Linux implementation of the ICMP-MIB. This release fixes this bug and all users are encouraged to update their SNMP agent if they make use of the ICMP-MIB table objects.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected net-snmp package.
