Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The PNG reference library (libpng), as used in pngcrush and other applications, allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code by way of a crafted PNG file.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution SOL9988.
