Description

Buffer overflow in the repr function in Python 2.3 through 2.6 before 20060822 allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via crafted wide character UTF-32/UCS-4 strings to certain scripts. (CVE-2006-4980)

Impact

An attacker may be able to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) to the system or execute malicious code through exploited scripts.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K16398.
