critical Nessus Plugin ID 86294

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-2757-1 advisory.

Two security issues were discovered in Blink and V8. If a user were tricked in to opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to bypass same-origin restrictions.
(CVE-2015-1303, CVE-2015-1304)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
