The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.Description
The decodenetnum function in ntpd in NTP 4.2.x before 4.2.8p4, and 4.3.x before 4.3.77 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure) via a 6 or mode 7 packet containing a long data value. (CVE-2015-7855)Impact
A locally authenticated user may be able to disrupt ntpd functionality with a specially crafted packet.
Solution
Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K17515.See Also
