Debian DLA-625-1 : curl security update

critical Nessus Plugin ID 93565

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security update.

Description

It was discovered that the four four libcurl functions curl_escape(), curl_easy_escape(), curl_unescape and curl_easy_unescape accepted negative sting length inputs.

For Debian 7 'Wheezy', these problems have been fixed in version 7.26.0-1+wheezy16.

We recommend that you upgrade your curl packages.

NOTE: Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the DLA security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Upgrade the affected packages.
