MariaDB 10.1.x < 10.1.6 Multiple DoS Vulnerabilities

medium Nessus Plugin ID 93740

Synopsis

The remote database server is affected by multiple denial of service vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of MariaDB running on the remote host is 10.1.x prior to 10.1.6. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities :

- A denial of service vulnerability exists in the get_mm_leaf() function within file sql/opt_range.cc when handling XOR statements in binary columns that allows an authenticated, remote attacker to crash the database.

- A denial of service vulnerability exists in the filesort() function when handling ordered delete statements that allows an authenticated, remote attacker to crash the database.

Solution

Upgrade to MariaDB version 10.1.6 or later.
