Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS / 16.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-3089-1 advisory.

Sergey Bobrov discovered that Django incorrectly parsed cookies when being used with Google Analytics. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to set arbitrary cookies leading to a CSRF protection bypass.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python-django, python-django-common and / or python3-django packages.
