Synopsis

The remote Windows host has web portal software installed that is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM WebSphere Portal installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability due to improper temporary upload file handling. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, via a series of specially crafted uploads, to cause a denial of service condition.

Solution

Apply the appropriate fixes per the vendor advisory :

 - For 6.1.0.x, upgrade to version 6.1.0.6 CF27 and apply interim fix PI67037.

 - For 6.1.5.x, upgrade to version 6.1.5.3 CF27 and apply interim fix PI67037.

 - For 7.0.0.x, upgrade to version 7.0.0.2 CF30 and apply interim fix PI67037.

 - For 8.0.0.x, upgrade to version 8.0.0.1 CF21 and apply interim fix PI67037.

 - For 8.5.0.x, upgrade to version 8.5.0 CF12.
