Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing multiple security updates.

Description

According to the versions of the spice package installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 - A vulnerability was discovered in spice in the server's protocol handling. An authenticated attacker could send crafted messages to the spice server causing a heap overflow leading to a crash or possible code execution.
 (CVE-2016-9577)

 - A vulnerability was discovered in spice in the server's protocol handling. An attacker able to connect to the spice server could send crafted messages which would cause the process to crash. (CVE-2016-9578)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected spice packages.
