EulerOS 2.0 SP1 : libvncserver (EulerOS-SA-2017-1046)

Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing multiple security updates.

Description

According to the versions of the libvncserver package installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 - Heap-based buffer overflow in ultra.c in LibVNCClient in LibVNCServer before 0.9.11 allows remote servers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted FramebufferUpdate message with the Ultra type tile, such that the LZO payload decompressed length exceeds what is specified by the tile dimensions.(CVE-2016-9942,CVE-2016-9941)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected libvncserver packages.
