Description

Siemens S7-300 central processing units (CPUs) for all versions including version 3.2.12 have a vulnerability which could allow a remote attacker to obtain credentials from the PLC if protection-level 2 is configured on the affected devices.

Solution

Apply protection-level 3 (Read/Write protection). Apply cell protection concept. Apply Defense-in-Depth concept. Use VPN for protecting network communication between cells.
