Synopsis

A Siemens S7-300 central processing unit (CPU) has been detected which contains a flaw that could allow a DoS attack over port 102/TCP (ISO-TSAP) or via Profibus.

Description

Siemens S7-300 central processing units (CPUs) with Profinet support less than version 3.2.12 and without Profinet support less than version 3.3.12 have a vulnerability which could allow a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service condition. The attack involves sending specially crafted packets to 102/TCP and could cause the device to go into defect mode. A cold restart is required to recover the system.

Solution

Siemens recommends applying SIMATIC S7-300 firmware version V3.2.12 or V3.3.12 which fix the vulnerability
