Synopsis

A Siemens S7-300 programmable logic controller (PLC) has been detected which is vulnerable to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack vector.

Description

Siemens S7-300 PLC CPUs improperly validate S7 communication packets, which could cause a denial-of-service condition of the CPU. The CPU will remain in DEFECT mode until manual restart.

Solution

Upgrade the firmware to version 3.3.16 or later.
