Synopsis

The remote mobile device, identified as a BlackBerry, is communicating with Microsoft ActiveSync.

Description

The BlackBerry mobile host was identified as it connected to an ActiveSync server. ActiveSync allows a mobile device to be synchronized with either a desktop PC or a server running a compatible software product, such as MS Exchange Server or Novell GroupWise, to enable services such as email or policy management. While monitoring traffic from this host, PVS was able to identify the BlackBerry device model and OS version.
