Atlassian Crucible Server < 4.0.0 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 9785

Synopsis

The remote Crucible server is affected by multiple attack vectors.

Description

Versions of Crucible prior to 4.0.0 are affected by multiple vulnerabilities :

- A flaw exists in the password reset form that is triggered as separate error messages are returned if a user does not exist. This may allow a remote attacker to enumerate usernames.
- A flaw exists that allows a XSS attack. This flaw exists because the program does not validate input to profile settings before returning it to users. This may allow a remote attacker to create a specially crafted request that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.
- A flaw exists that is triggered when handling the 'Groups to Synchronise' membership filter in certain unspecified situations. This may allow a remote attacker to bypass authentication mechanisms.

Solution

Upgrade to Crucible version 4.0.0 or later.
