An update of the linux package has been released.

According to the versions of the kernel packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

  - A time-of-check to time-of-use issue exists in io_uring subsystem's IORING_OP_CLOSE operation in the Linux     kernel's versions 5.6 - 5.11 (inclusive), which allows a local user to elevate their privileges to root.
    Introduced in b5dba59e0cf7e2cc4d3b3b1ac5fe81ddf21959eb, patched in     9eac1904d3364254d622bf2c771c4f85cd435fc2, backported to stable in     788d0824269bef539fe31a785b1517882eafed93. (CVE-2023-1295)

  - An out-of-bounds memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel's XFS file system in how a user restores     an XFS image after failure (with a dirty log journal). This flaw allows a local user to crash or     potentially escalate their privileges on the system. (CVE-2023-2124)

  - A known cache speculation vulnerability, known as Branch History Injection (BHI) or Spectre-BHB, becomes     actual again for the new hw AmpereOne. Spectre-BHB is similar to Spectre v2, except that malicious code     uses the shared branch history (stored in the CPU Branch History Buffer, or BHB) to influence mispredicted     branches within the victim's hardware context. Once that occurs, speculation caused by the mispredicted     branches can cause cache allocation. This issue leads to obtaining information that should not be     accessible. (CVE-2023-3006)

  - A heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux Kernel ipvlan network driver can be exploited to     achieve local privilege escalation. The out-of-bounds write is caused by missing skb->cb initialization in     the ipvlan network driver. The vulnerability is reachable if CONFIG_IPVLAN is enabled. We recommend     upgrading past commit 90cbed5247439a966b645b34eb0a2e037836ea8e. (CVE-2023-3090)

  - A flaw was found in the Framebuffer Console (fbcon) in the Linux Kernel. When providing font->width and     font->height greater than 32 to fbcon_set_font, since there are no checks in place, a shift-out-of-bounds     occurs leading to undefined behavior and possible denial of service. (CVE-2023-3161)

  - An out of bounds (OOB) memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel in relay_file_read_start_pos in     kernel/relay.c in the relayfs. This flaw could allow a local attacker to crash the system or leak kernel     internal information. (CVE-2023-3268)

  - A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter subsystem in     net/netfilter/nf_tables_api.c. Mishandled error handling with NFT_MSG_NEWRULE makes it possible to use a     dangling pointer in the same transaction causing a use-after-free vulnerability. This flaw allows a local     attacker with user access to cause a privilege escalation issue. We recommend upgrading past commit     1240eb93f0616b21c675416516ff3d74798fdc97. (CVE-2023-3390)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 6.3.3. There is an out-of-bounds read in crc16 in     lib/crc16.c when called from fs/ext4/super.c because ext4_group_desc_csum does not properly check an     offset. NOTE: this is disputed by third parties because the kernel is not intended to defend against     attackers with the stated 'When modifying the block device while it is mounted by the filesystem' access.

  - Linux Kernel nftables Out-Of-Bounds Read/Write Vulnerability; nft_byteorder poorly handled vm register     contents when CAP_NET_ADMIN is in any user or network namespace (CVE-2023-35001)

  - An issue was discovered in fl_set_geneve_opt in net/sched/cls_flower.c in the Linux kernel before 6.3.7.
    It allows an out-of-bounds write in the flower classifier code via TCA_FLOWER_KEY_ENC_OPTS_GENEVE packets.
    This may result in denial of service or privilege escalation. (CVE-2023-35788)

  - A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched: cls_u32 component can be exploited to     achieve local privilege escalation. If tcf_change_indev() fails, u32_set_parms() will immediately return     an error after incrementing or decrementing the reference counter in tcf_bind_filter(). If an attacker can     control the reference counter and set it to zero, they can cause the reference to be freed, leading to a     use-after-free vulnerability. We recommend upgrading past commit 04c55383fa5689357bcdd2c8036725a55ed632bc.

  - An out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched: sch_qfq component can be exploited     to achieve local privilege escalation. The qfq_change_agg() function in net/sched/sch_qfq.c allows an out-     of-bounds write because lmax is updated according to packet sizes without bounds checks. We recommend     upgrading past commit 3e337087c3b5805fe0b8a46ba622a962880b5d64. (CVE-2023-3611)

  - A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched: cls_fw component can be exploited to     achieve local privilege escalation. If tcf_change_indev() fails, fw_set_parms() will immediately return an     error after incrementing or decrementing the reference counter in tcf_bind_filter(). The version of kernel installed on the remote host is prior to 5.10.162-141.675. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the ALAS2KERNEL-5.10-2023-025 advisory.

  - Guests can trigger NIC interface reset/abort/crash via netback It is possible for a guest to trigger a NIC     interface reset/abort/crash in a Linux based network backend by sending certain kinds of packets. It     appears to be an (unwritten?) assumption in the rest of the Linux network stack that packet protocol     headers are all contained within the linear section of the SKB and some NICs behave badly if this is not     the case. This has been reported to occur with Cisco (enic) and Broadcom NetXtrem II BCM5780 (bnx2x)     though it may be an issue with other NICs/drivers as well. In case the frontend is sending requests with     split headers, netback will forward those violating above mentioned assumption to the networking core,     resulting in said misbehavior. (CVE-2022-3643)

  - A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Linux Kernel. This affects the function     fib_nh_match of the file net/ipv4/fib_semantics.c of the component IPv4 Handler. The manipulation leads to     out-of-bounds read. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. It is recommended to apply a patch to     fix this issue. The identifier VDB-210357 was assigned to this vulnerability. (CVE-2022-3435)

  - A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this     vulnerability is the function follow_page_pte of the file mm/gup.c of the component BPF. The manipulation     leads to race condition. The attack can be launched remotely. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix     this issue. The identifier VDB-211921 was assigned to this vulnerability. (CVE-2022-3623)

  - A stack overflow flaw was found in the Linux kernel's SYSCTL subsystem in how a user changes certain     kernel parameters and variables. This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their     privileges on the system. (CVE-2022-4378)

  - Guests can trigger deadlock in Linux netback driver T[his CNA information record relates to multiple CVEs;
    the text explains which aspects/vulnerabilities correspond to which CVE.] The patch for XSA-392 introduced     another issue which might result in a deadlock when trying to free the SKB of a packet dropped due to the     XSA-392 handling (CVE-2022-42328). Additionally when dropping packages for other reasons the same deadlock     could occur in case of netpoll being active for the interface the xen-netback driver is connected to     (CVE-2022-42329). (CVE-2022-42328, CVE-2022-42329)
