Apache Tomcat 8.5.55 < 8.5.75 Local Privilege Escalation

Description

The version of Apache Tomcat installed on the remote host is 8.5.55 to 8.5.73, 9.0.35 to 9.0.56, 10.0.0-M5 to 10.0.14 or 10.1.0-M1 to 10.1.0-M8. It is, therefore, affected by a local privilege escalation vulnerability due to a time of check, time of use vulnerability.

Note that the scanner has not attempted to exploit these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Apache Tomcat version 8.5.75 or later.
