MediaWiki < 1.37.0 Multiple Vulnerabilities

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the instance of MediaWiki hosted on the remote web server is prior to 1.37. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A vulnerability in the handling of theclientURL parameter for the ImportFile page leading to cross site scripting attacks.

- A vulnerability in the central description handling of a object in the page invormation view leading to cross site scripting attacks.

- A flaw in the handling of external identifier property validation permitting urls containing the javascript: url scheme to be used, leading to cross site scripting attacks.

- A vulnerability in the EntitySchema editing dialogue permitting EntrySchema label, description and aliases without authentication and from globally blocked IPs.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MediaWiki version 1.37 or later.
