Atlassian Confluence 9.0.x < 9.0.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Web App Scanning Plugin ID 114420

Synopsis

Atlassian Confluence 9.0.x < 9.0.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the Atlassian Confluence application running on the remote host is prior to 7.19.26, 7.20.x prior to 8.5.14, 8.6.x prior to 8.9.5 or 9.0.x prior to 9.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and a CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) vulnerability which allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary HTML or JavaScript code on a victims browser and force a end user to execute unwanted actions on a web application in which they're currently authenticated.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Confluence version 9.0.1 or later.
