Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the version of the mercurial package installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerability :

 - In Mercurial before 4.4.1, it is possible that a specially malformed repository can cause Git subrepositories to run arbitrary code in the form of a .git/hooks/post-update script checked into the repository. Typical use of Mercurial prevents construction of such repositories, but they can be created programmatically.(CVE-2017-17458)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected mercurial package.
