Synopsis

The Microsoft Visual Studio Products are missing a security update.

Description

The Microsoft Visual Studio Products are missing a security update. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue to cause the application to stop responding.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Microsoft has released the following security updates to address this issue:
- Update 16.7.25 for Visual Studio 2019
- Update 16.9.17 for Visual Studio 2019
- Update 16.11.10 for Visual Studio 2019
- Update 17.0.6 for Visual Studio 2022
