Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiWeb installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-21-160 advisory.

 - Multiple heap-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities in some web API controllers of FortiWeb 6.4.1, 6.4.0, and 6.3.0 through 6.3.15 may allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code or commands via specifically crafted HTTP requests. (CVE-2021-41017)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Please upgrade to FortiWeb version 6.3.16/6.4.2 or later.
