Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2023 host is missing a security update.

Description

It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the ALAS2023-2023-123 advisory.

2024-02-29: CVE-2022-48624 was added to this advisory.

In GNU Less before 609, crafted data can result in less -R not filtering ANSI escape sequences sent to the terminal. (CVE-2022-46663)

close_altfile in filename.c in less before 606 omits shell_quote calls for LESSCLOSE. (CVE-2022-48624)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the tested product security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'dnf update less --releasever=2023.0.20230308' to update your system.
