Synopsis

The Adobe Illustrator instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe Illustrator installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 27.9.6, 28.7.1. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB24-66 advisory.

 - Illustrator versions 28.5, 27.9.4 and earlier are affected by an Improper Input Validation vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2024-41856)

 - Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound) (CWE-191) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-41857)

 - Integer Overflow or Wraparound (CWE-190) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-34121)

 - Use After Free (CWE-416) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-43758)

 - Out-of-bounds Read (CWE-125) potentially leading to Memory leak (CVE-2024-45111)

 - NULL Pointer Dereference (CWE-476) potentially leading to Application denial-of-service (CVE-2024-43759)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Illustrator version 27.9.6, 28.7.1 or later.
