Course Description

Participants in this course will learn how to implement and support the Tenable Vulnerability Management platform. Content includes installation and configuration, operations, a technology overview including architecture and design discussions for typical environments, and detailed scanning and analysis instruction.

This course is available in two delivery methods. There is a 2-day instructor-led virtual class, offered on a regular schedule. The self-paced, on-demand delivery option includes about 3 hours of video lectures and product demos, plus 2.5 hours of lab exercises, totaling at least 5.5 hours of content. Trainees get 16 hours of lab environment access with on-demand course purchase.

Audience

This course is suited for professionals with operational responsibilities who want to expand their knowledge to maximize the solution’s effectiveness. It is recommended for those seeking to obtain Specialist-level product certification.

Prerequisites

Tenable highly recommends that all participants complete the free Tenable Vulnerability Management Introduction Course, available at Tenable University, before attending this course.

CPE/CEU credits

Tenable cannot award CPE credits toward industry certifications as these credits are determined by the certification body (e.g., ISC2, SANS, PCI Council, etc.). Upon completion of a Tenable Instructor-led course, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance which, in most cases, is accepted by the certification body for awarding CPE credit. However, Tenable is an approved training provider towards CompTIA's Security+ certification. Upon receiving one of the approved Tenable Product Certifications, individuals with an active CompTIA Security+ certification can apply for CEUs toward their certification maintenance.

See https://www.certmetrics.com/comptia to apply and upload the required documentation to your CompTIA account. Credit is granted at CompTIA's discretion.

Tenable Vulnerability Management Specialist Certification

The Tenable Vulnerability Management Specialist Certification is a two-part exam; written and practical, that validates your ability to plan, deploy, verify and troubleshoot the platform. The exam is taken online in a proctored environment. The written exam must first be completed before you are allowed to take the practical exam. Upon successful completion of both exams, a Tenable Vulnerability Management Specialist Certification will be provided in electronic format.
