Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:2184-1 advisory.

- Liblouis through 3.21.0 has a buffer overflow in compilePassOpcode in compileTranslationTable.c (called, indirectly, by tools/lou_checktable.c). (CVE-2022-26981)

- Liblouis 3.21.0 has an out-of-bounds write in compileRule in compileTranslationTable.c, as demonstrated by lou_trace. (CVE-2022-31783)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected liblouis-data, liblouis-devel, liblouis19 and / or python3-louis packages.
